Lt. Commander Robin Phoenix Johnson Biography
After more than twenty years in the Army, Robin Phoenix Johnson discovered her new calling
in using comedy to heal individuals, groups, and communities. To provide veteran and military
spouse comedians with performance opportunities, she founded Best Medicine Brigade. Robin,
who was chosen as Charleston’s Best Comic of 2022, is presently opening for Andrew Conn on tour and has performed at venues around the nation including Caroline’s on Broadway, Atlanta Comedy Theater, Charlotte Comedy Zone, and others. In addition
to facilitating HEAL*ARIOUS, a program for veterans using humor therapy, Robin is
passionate about the therapeutic and practical use of comedy for mental health.
She is a comedy boot camp instructor for the Armed Services Arts Partnership and
a Level 2 Certified Humor Professional with the Association For Applied and Therapeutic
Humor.
