Home Care Nursing Service?
Home health nursing is a nursing specialty in which nurses provide patients of all ages with multidimensional home care. Home health care is a cost-effective way to provide quality care in the comfort of the client’s own home. Based on the client’s diagnosis, home health nurses develop care plans to achieve goals. These strategies may include preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative measures. Certified nursing assistants are also overseen by home health nurses. The Home Healthcare Nurses Association is the professional nursing organisation for home health nurses (HHNA). Home health care is intended for clients who are well enough to be discharged from the hospital but still require skilled nursing personnel to assess, initiate, and supervise nursing interventions.
Roles and responsibilities
Wound care, disease management, medical equipment, therapy, medical social services, and patient education are just a few of the services provided by a variety of professionals. [7] Home health nurses perform a wide range of duties and services. In addition to providing services, nurses consult with doctors about the patient’s condition and provide feedback on any potential changes that need to be made to the care plan.
Home health nurses are responsible for promoting health and disease prevention, administering medications, educating patients on their current diagnosis, providing emotional support, and providing basic care such as personal hygiene.
Nurses also take on the role of case managers, coordinating services from various disciplines for the patient. Rehabilitation, pharmacy, community resources, and other services may be included.
A home health nurse’s job also includes providing the most up-to-date and effective care for a patient. They accomplish this by staying current on the latest research and Evidence-Based Practice.
Barriers in home health nursing
Given the challenges that healthcare professionals face, home health nursing is a unique field. When visiting clients, the nurse is usually alone and cannot rely on others. Nurses in home health care must learn to be self-sufficient.
The variety of home conditions that a nurse will encounter can also pose challenges. Client care is heavily reliant on cleanliness and safety. Not all homes are equipped to provide the client with a clean environment. Unsanitary conditions in the home allow for bacterial growth, as do conditions that may increase the client’s risk of falling, such as poor lighting and area rugs. It is critical for the nurse to educate the client on this subject.

A patient’s options for home health care services are virtually limitless. Care can range from nursing care to specialized medical services such as laboratory workups, depending on the individual patient’s situation. You and your doctor will decide on your care plan and any home services you may require. At-home care services may include the following:
